A Harvard study found the following:

“Monounsaturated fat – found in olive oil, sunflower oil, [avocados], nuts and seeds – was better than any other kind of dietary fat for would-be mothers. Those who ate the highest amounts were 3.4 times more likely to have a child after IVF than those who ate the lowest amounts.”

I’ve been tracking my calorie consumption and the percentage of fat and protein I get using Livestrong’s The Daily Plate. In trying to increase my protein consumption I’ve been snacking on almonds, flax seed crackers, and peanut butter (which also contain healthy fat). Luckily, avocados are my absolute FAVORITE fruit and I could eat them by the truck load. I love them so much I even used this as my tag line for an online dating profile (long before I met my husband in a bar! haha): “My dream: to have an avocado tree!” Needless to say, I had a lot of hippy types after me.
Every Saturday hubby and I hit up a local farmer’s market where they sell the most scrumptious avocados I’ve ever tasted. This week I’ll be buying 3 instead of 6 (I’ll take any excuse I can get!). If these little babies have the anti-inflammatory properties scientists suspect they do, then I’m betting they’re good for my dreaded endometriosis too.
