This summer, my family and I spent 6-weeks at our new Ko’olina condo and Airbnb listing on the west side of Oahu. It was a sunshine filled summer full of personal growth, for me and the kids especially. Our oldest ditched her water wings two weeks in and our youngest perfected potty training! What better place to potty train than Hawaii, where going diaper-free is practically a requirement?

We bought this Ko’olina condo furnished but upon further inspection, I discovered those furnishings weren’t up to my standards. What did I do? I spent the summer redecorating on a serious budget! My goal: to create a comfortable and aesthetically appealing vacation space for kids and parents! I also strived to utilize locally inspired and produced art where possible. And luckily, I had my mom around to help. As a seasoned home stager, her input was invaluable.

As with any home or condo, there are ALWAYS design and renovation projects in the works (for example we’re replacing the blinds and carpet this month!), but for now, The Ko’olina Keiki Cottage is a COZY and affordable vacation rental for families and larger groups of friends.

Here a few reasons to choose our condo over one of the nearby and very expensive resorts:

  1. You’ll enjoy three bedrooms, instead of one hotel suite! That means there’s room for grandma and grandpa to tag along (ahem babysitters so you can enjoy some kid-free hikes in the Ko’olau Mountains!).
  2. You’ll have a half bathroom and two full bathrooms at your disposal!
  3. You have a full kitchen for cooking and caffeinating! This helps save on the high cost of eating out which is notoriously expensive in Hawaii. We typically eat two meals a day at the home or pack a lunch for the beach so we can splurge on dinner out at Mina’s Fishhouse or Roy’s.
  4. You’ll be able to enjoy many of the amenities of the local resorts WITHOUT the hefty price tag. While only registered guests are able to enjoy the Aulani water park, anyone can swim in the lagoons, stroll the grounds, and enjoy Aulani’s restaurants including the character breakfasts and dinners!

With all of that said, I’m pleased to share pictures of how my hard design work turned out below! We truly love our Ko’olina condo and are thrilled to be able to share it with traveling families and friends alike. If you’re interested in booking, message me. There are HOA restrictions on the length of stay required in our community but I’m happy to share more via email.
